Over 100 shogi enthusiasts gather to become the biggest shogi tournament overseas.
The European Shogi Championship (ESC) and World Open Shogi Championship (WOSC) were held in Strasbourg, France.
The tournament spans four days, with team battles and Blitz on the first day, and main games on days two through four.
The ESC has been held since 1985, and the WOSC since 2000. It is the biggest tournament and also the biggest shogi event.
Professional shogi players from Japan also participated, and activities such as instructional games and promotional activities such as how to move pieces for beginners were also carried out.
In addition, after the game, there will be an impression match, and there will also be a drinking party that also serves as an exchange, making it a fun event.
The new european champion is Starykevich Anton (BY), vice champion is Thomas Leiter (DE) and Maxim Shaporov gets the third place.
2024 will be held in Barcelona, Spain

第30回ドイツ将棋選手権 // 30th German Open Shogi Championship

6月10・11日に第30回ドイツ将棋選手権がハンブルクのヨハネス・ブラームス記念館にてShogi Deutschlandの主催で開催されました。
トーナメントではMacMahon式が採用され、参加者たちは6ラウンドを戦いました。
トーナメントには7か国から計30名が参加し、 参加者のうち半数がFESAの段位が一段～四段ととてもハイレベルな戦いになりました。
最終結果は、優勝が西本氏（日本）、準優勝が渋谷氏(日本)、３位がShcheslionok Peter氏(先月ミラノで開催された第19回イタリア将棋選手権の覇者) となりました。
ドイツ国籍では最上位がBorysov Anton氏 (総合6位) 、そしてKruse Janik氏、Rövekamp Frank氏が続きました。
また、サイドイベントとして、金曜日にはハンブルク将棋クラブ主催で市内の観光ツアーが行われました。
土曜日の午後には、対局後にShogi Deutschlandの臨時総会が開催され、Frischmuth Uwe氏が全会一致で新会長に選出されました。
On June 10th and 11th the 30th German Open Shogi Championship took place in Hamburg.
The tournament, organized by Shogi Deutschland, took place in a space within the city’s Johannes Brahms Conservatory.
The organization of the tournament envisaged an Open conducted over six rounds with the MacMahon system within which the German Championship was integrated.
Thirty players were present, of seven different nationalities. It was an event with an important number of high-level amateur players; exactly half of the participants had an Elo FESA grade between 1 and 4 Dan.
The final podium saw Nishimoto Kasey (JP) on the top step, second Shibutani Kazushi (JP) and third Shcheslionok Peter (winner of the XIX Italian Championship held in Milan last month).
The new German Champion is Borysov Anton (sixth in the general classification), followed by Kruse Janik and Rövekamp Frank.
Two notes of color: on Friday the Hamburg Shogi Club offered all participants who had the opportunity to be present a tourist tour of the city; On Saturday afternoon, after the last shift of the day, an extraordinary session of Shogi Deutschland took place in which the new president Frischmuth Uwe was unanimously elected.

Il 10 e 11 giugno ha avuto luogo ad Amburgo il trentesimo Campionato Tedesco Open di Shogi.
Il torneo, organizzato dalla Shogi Deutschland, ha avuto luogo in uno spazio all’interno del Conservatorio cittadino Johannes Brahms.
L’organizzazione del torneo ha previsto un Open condotto su sei turni con sistema MacMahon all’interno del quale era integrato il Campionato Tedesco.
Sono stati presenti trenta giocatori, di sette nazionalità differenti. Si è trattato di una manifestazione con un importante numero di giocatori di alto livello amatoriale; la metà esatta dei partecipanti presentava un grado Elo FESA compreso tra 1 e 4 Dan.
Il podio finale ha visto Nishimoto Kasey (JP) sul gradino più alto, secondo Shibutani Kazushi (JP) e terzo Shcheslionok Peter (vincitore del XIX Campionato Italiano disputato a Milano il mese scorso).
Il nuovo Campione Tedesco è Borysov Anton (sesto nella classifica generale), seguito da Kruse Janik e Rövekamp Frank.
Due note di colore: il venerdì il Club Shogi di Amburgo offriva a tutti i partecipanti che avessero avuto la possibilità di essere presenti un tour turistico della città; sabato pomeriggio, dopo l’ultimo turno della giornata, ha avuto luogo una seduta straordinaria della Shogi Deutschland in cui è stato eletto all’unanimità il nuovo presidente Frischmuth Uwe.

2023年5月27日から28日にかけてイギリスのWalesにてHeart of Wales Shogi Openが開催されました。会場となったNant y Walch Barnはロンドンから電車で約5時間ほどのLlanwrtyd Wellsに位置し、美しい山々や農場に囲まれています。
大会は、持ち時間40分30秒のルールで5月27日午前10時から28日午後7時まで8ラウンド、計50試合以上が行われ、イギリス、ドイツ、オランダ、ブルガリア、日本から計14人の将棋プレーヤーが参加しました。棋力は7級の初級者から6段の高段者まで多岐にわたり、中には元奨励会二段の参加者もいました。
対局中はピリッとした空気に包まれていましたが、対局後は皆リラックスして、屋外の心地よい日差しのもと熱心に感想戦を行いました。
大会後の夜にはサイドイベントとして15分3秒のブリッツトーナメントやペア将棋、チェスやシャンチーなどの他のボードゲームも行われ、将棋やボードゲームにどっぷり浸かる2日間となりました。
また、宿泊していたオーナーのご厚意により、夕食にはバーベキューやピザなどを堪能し、盤上盤外ともに大変充実した2日間となりました。

Heart of Wales Shogi Open was held at Nant y Walch Barn on May 27&28, 2023. The venue is located in Llanwrtyd Wells, about 5 hours away from London by train, and surrounded by beautiful mountains and farms.
In the main event, more than 50 games were played from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28 with 40min+30sec byoyomi rule. 14 Shogi players joined the tournament from UK, Germany, Netherlands, Bulgaria and Japan. From 7th Kyu to 6th Dan, the rating scale covered by the various players. Even an ex-Shorei Kai (奨励会, an official training institution in Japan for junior Shogi players who want to become a professional player) player joined the tournament.
All the participants were very serious during the game, but once done, they felt more relaxed and enthusiastically discussed and analyzed the game.
As side events, players were also thrilled with Blitz tournament, pair Shogi, and other board games such as chess and xiangqi in the evenings.
Most of the participants stayed in the cottages close to the venue. They fully enjoyed the meals served by the cottage owners including BBQ and pizza along with the guitar music.

L’Heart of Wales Shogi Open si è tenuto al Nant y Walch Barn il 27 e 28 maggio 2023. La sede si trova a Llanwrtyd Wells, a circa 5 ore di treno da Londra ed è circondata da splendide montagne e fattorie.
Nell’evento principale sono state giocate più di 50 partite dalle 10:00 di sabato 27 maggio alle 19:00 Aadomenica 28 maggio con regola byoyomi 40min+30sec. 14 giocatori di Shogi si sono uniti al torneo da Regno Unito, Germania, Paesi Bassi, Bulgaria e Giappone. Dal 7° Kyu al 6° Dan, la scala di valutazione coperta dai vari giocatori. Anche un ex Shorei Kai (奨励会, un istituto di formazione ufficiale in Giappone per i giovani giocatori di Shogi che vogliono diventare giocatori professionisti) si è unito al torneo.
Tutti i partecipanti sono stati molto seri durante il gioco, ma, una volta terminato, si sono sentiti più rilassati e hanno discusso e analizzato con entusiasmo il gioco.
Diversi eventi collaterali hanno entusiamato i partecipanti: torneo Blitz, pair Shogi e di altri giochi da tavolo come gli scacchi e lo xiangqi la sera.
La maggior parte dei partecipanti ha soggiornato nei cottage vicini alla sede. Sono stati molto apprezzati i pasti serviti dai proprietari del cottage, tra cui barbecue e pizza insieme alla musica della chitarra.

Dobutsu a scuola!

Le classi prime della Scuola Primaria Regina Margherita di Vigevano (PV) hanno svolto a marzo un corso didattico dal titolo Dobutsu Shogi: scacchi giapponesi degli animali per avviare i più piccoli ai giochi astratti sportivi. Il progetto è nato da una proposta di uno dei genitori degli alunni, shogista e membro dell’Associazione Italiana di Shogi, alle docenti scolastiche, che hanno accolto con interesse ed entusiasmo l’idea di un’attività ludico-sportiva mentale.
Il Dobutsu ha il grande pregio di essere molto chiaro per proporre ai bambini i concetti fondamentali dei giochi di matrice scacchistica, come il movimento dei pezzi, le direzioni, la cattura, le mosse consentite e quelle proibite. Tutti concetti che sono il primo scoglio concettuale in questo tipo di giochi. Inoltre l’aspetto tenero e accattivante degli animali incuriosisce e diverte gli alunni.
Il corso ha previsto due incontri da un’ora ciascuno in ognuna delle classi. In ogni appuntamento sono state spiegate le regole ed illustrati i concetti teorici fondamentali, a cui è seguito un momento di gioco attivo. Le insegnanti hanno preparato un set di gioco per ogni allievo, che ha potuto personalizzarlo colorandolo a piacere.
Il progetto prosegue, prevedendo momenti di gioco in classe e lo svolgimento di Tsume proposti con regolarità dal genitore/maestro e da un torneo tra classi che avrà luogo prossimamente.
Tutto finito?
Altro bolle in pentola, i bimbi hanno visto altri animali e la curiosità potrebbe portare al Dobutsu Shogi in Greenwood l’anno prossimo.
